January. Weather outside is quite depressing and cold and there are not opportunities for many amusing activities. On the other hand, this is great opportunity to stay indoors and pamper yourself. One of the very interesting events that enables this is Grand Restaurant Festival that had started on 15th of January and is ongoing for one month. What is it about? The idea is; that high cuisine should be also for regular people and for regular prices. So in this month, the best Czech restaurants prepare special menu that is available for (usually) half of the regular price. So you can taste masterpieces of international chefs for the price of the food in normal restaurant. The trick is that amount of menus is limited, so you need to buy a ticket for concrete restaurant, day and hour. Price of the ticket is 200czk – 600czk (depends on the menu and restaurant).
