Are you fond of New Year’s resolutions? Some people do not even bother, claiming that any time in the year is good for a resolution or resolutions are useless as such. Other group of people always takes several resolutions, but stick to them only for the first days. But there is also a small group that takes resolutions really seriously and keep to them for the rest of the year. I personally think that beginning of the New Year is a good time to think about previous year, summarize it and also analyse what you can improve. But I also think that before taking 10 resolutions and deciding to change your life completely, it’s important to be realistic. I think 2 or 3 resolutions are more than enough. And to keep motivated and be able to stick to them for the rest of the year, it’s good to set realistic goals. Also, what helps me personally, is to give quite concrete resolutions, e.g. not just ‘to improve my diet’, but ‘I will eat every day 1 fruit and once a week a fish’. This is easier to check and hold to. I wish you all the luck with New Year’s resolutions – and don’t worry, your resolution doesn’t have to be traditional loosing weight or doing more sports. Choose whatever you think you want to improve – if it’s having more fun or spending more time with your friends, be it. Resolutions don’t have to be unpleasant! And even if you will stick to it only for a few months, I think it’s better to try and fail as not even trying!
